About

This is a walking journal of my dreams (real and sleeping ones) and ruminations. They were accumulated between the years of early retirement and re-employment. The blog is long and can be boring as I have not yet uploaded the illustrations. But it is a work in progress just as I found my life is. Thanks for peering into my corner.

Dear Sir, I found your site from reading your NHK World ‘Asia 7 Days’ evaluation. Very powerful writing! The story behind ‘The Two’ is true? And you say you have many other stories? It would be wonderful to hear them.
I will continue reading your site. Thank you for your help with NHK World!

Thank you don, you’re my first comment on this site! I trust nhk will one day produce a story about the kindness of the imperial soldiers because they’re harder to find than the cruelty of war. Many are getting old, and some have passed on, so nhk should not delay starting the research, as they always do. There is some embellishment on “the two”, but the basic facts are there. Mamoru Shinoshita is real (see My nhk report on Military Heat, true stories that my national service instructor Capt Sheares told us). He could very well be Japan’s Shindler.
